LadogaTrophy'97 (29 June - 5 July 1997)
At 5th of July the first international off-road raid 'Ladoga'97' has finished at the embankment of Neva river. More than 30 participants from St.Petersburg, Moscow, Murmansk and Latvia had passed difficult and very beautiful and attractive at the same time Karelian roads.
River crossing and marshes, steep hills and mud, sand dunes and stony roads - everything participants were dreamed about had been overcame.
All 4x4 equipment was using regularly: shovels, chainsaws, different winches and ropes.
Competition program included some disciplines:
- two road-book (40 km length each);
- race in a sandy quarry;
- beach race
Our club called this event as a trophy-raid 'Ladoga'97' - more than 1000 km around Ladozhskoe Lake - largest in Europe. Every camp site was organized in a beautiful place beside one of hundreds lakes.

4x4 mini van Mitsubishi had the same problems as LADA NIVA, but it got out by it's own winch. |

Toyota Land Cruiser BJ 40 on the slope after accident. Dram brakes after recent river crossing didn't work at all. Big pine-tree stopped BJ 40 on the way down to the lake. |
